Let us purify our hearts

Assalamo Aleikum wrb
I came upon these verses and especially the last one, about the purity of the heart.
We live in a time when anyone who wants to be an adherent to the sunnah is called a wahabi,
and anyone who wants to talk about the love of Allah is called a sufi. Yet if we look
at the people of knowledge of old, we find them having both, in the right balance, and that is
the key. People who leave the sunnah fall into extremes, and people who leave the love of ALlah
and the tazghia fall into extremes. Which ever way you take it, wether it was imam Al Ghazali,
or ibn Tymiah both were strict adherents to the sunnah and masters of purification of the heart.
Keeping the balance is the siat al mustakeem, and be ware of your heart, for if harshness settles in it,
it is corrupted and if to much softness and layback sets in it it is corrupted.
Keep the balance.

'Recite to them the story of Abraham,
When he asked his father and his people, 'What do you worship?'
'We worship idols,' they replied, 'and we are ever devoted to them.'
He said, 'Do they hear you when you cry?
Or do they benefit or harm you in any way?'
They said, 'No, but this is what we found our forefathers doing.'
He said, 'Do you see, then, what you and your forefathers have been worshipping?
Truly, they are all my enemies, except the Lord of the Worlds,
Who created me, and Who guides me,
And Who feeds me and gives me to drink,
And when I am ill, He heals me,
And Who will cause me to die, and give me life again;
And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgment.
O Lord, grant me wisdom, and unite me with the righteous,
And grant that I may be remembered well in future generations,
And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight;
And forgive my father, for he is one of those who is lost;
And do not disgrace me on the Day when all will be resurrected,
The Day that wealth and children will not avail anyone,
Except one who brings to God a clean heart.'
(The Quran 26:69-89)

Its a very good point there, akhiy. We shouldn't fall into the traps of being extreme. Without Imaan, Amaal is useless. Without Amaal, imaan is not at its best.

Mash'Allah I loved what this brother wrote, simply because it's the truth.

Unfortunately we are living in a time where by people are more concerned about what sect to belong to, rather than simply being a Muslim.

The Prophet (SAW) advised us if we follow two things then we will never go astray (Quran and Sunnah).

In fact Islam teaches us to live life in accordance with a balance. The sunnah of the Prophet (Saw) is in fact the very essence of living life through the middle course.

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, No. 1, Narrated Anas bin Malik

"A group of three men came to the houses of the wives of the Prophet asking how the Prophet worshipped (Allah), and when they were informed about that, they considered their worship insufficient and said, "Where are we from the Prophet as his past and future sins have been forgiven." Then one of them said, "I will offer the prayer throughout the night forever." The other said, "I will fast throughout the year and will not break my fast." The third said, "I will keep away from the women and will not marry forever." Allah's Apostle came to them and said, "Are you the same people who said so-and-so? By Allah, I am more submissive to Allah and more afraid of Him than you; yet I fast and break my fast, I do sleep and I also marry women. So he who does not follow my tradition in religion, is not from me (not one of my followers)."

If we actually examine the meaning of Islam, what does it mean ? Okay it means PEACE... But why does it mean peace ? It means peace because it teaches us to live in accordance with the prescribed measurement Allah has promised to be best for us.

This is evident in many of His signs. For example; take healthy foods if that is all we eat, that then becomes bad for you. The body also needs fats for energy. Hence, the body is not at peace (or cannot function to it's fullest) unless it receives a balanced diet.

Another example would be that of a plant. It needs water and light for it to live and grow. However, if given too less water (it will dry out) but at the same time if the plant is given too much (it will drown). Hence,it needs just the right measurement in order for it to survive (which is usually not too much, not too less).

The same can be applied to our deen. Hence, that is why Islam means peace, because it means to live life in accordance with the true measurement prescribed most beneficial to man, by Allah.

What we have to remember Islam came to teach people the middle ground (for those that label Islam as being extreme, they should think again). Since the Jews deviated from their Messenger (PBUH) that they ended up worshiping the caff. Where by on the other hand the Christians loved their Messenger (PBUH) to the point that they even claimed him to be the son of God or even God Himself (Astaghfurallah). If you had to place all three religions on scale (christianity and Judasism would be on either side of the scale and Islam would be placed right on the Middle). Since Islam teaches us to love our Messenger (PBUH) even more than our own selves, but not more than the creator Himself. Now how can there be justice when the creator is loved less than the person Whom He created ? If there is no justice, how can there ever be peace ?

Now Muhammed (SAW) was the best of all of Allah's creations. To think if the creations is so beautiful, how beautiful must our CREATOR be ?

It is beyond our comprehension.

ALLAH HU AKBAR !
